Why do people use iPods?
When and where are the best environments?
And how can radio compete with these little music boxes?
We’re going to address this issues in an upcoming web poll. But I can tell you from several different L.A.B. groups I’ve conducted over the past several weeks that the #1 most mentioned place is the gym – while working out. Makes sense, when you consider that on a treadmill or while running, you want that perfect mix of music to keep you motivated. Hopefully, as the newness of owning an iPod wears off a bit, these more isolated listening situations will become more common.
Maybe we can also hope that our listeners aren’t all that committed to staying in great shape.

I don’t get to the gym, but have been using mine while skiing. And I notice a lot of kids doing the same… Thankfully, other than me, old white guys with iPods doesn’t seem to be an issue on the slopes.
