The announcement last evening that the Stones would be providing the halftime entertainment for Super Bowl XL here in the Motor City brought a smile to lots of faces in Motown. As we know, Super Bowl "entertainment" has been all over the road, so the news that the halftime show will reflect the Rock N’ Roll attitude of Detroit just feels right. For a city that hasn’t had a lot of "satisfaction" during the past year, a Stones visit in the middle of winter with the whole nation watching works for us. And in the middle of our celebration of the Classic Rock format, it’s an even better way to end ’05, and usher in the new year.
