The announcement last evening that the Stones would be providing the halftime entertainment for Super Bowl XL here in 
the Motor City brought a smile to lots of faces in Motown. As we know, Super Bowl "entertainment" has been all over the road, so the news that the halftime show will reflect the Rock N’ Roll attitude of Detroit just feels right. For a city that hasn’t had a lot of "satisfaction" during the past year, a Stones visit in the middle of winter with the whole nation watching works for us. And in the middle of our celebration of the Classic Rock format, it’s an even better way to end ’05, and usher in the new year.

Fred Jacobs founded Jacobs Media in 1983, and quickly became known for the creation of the Classic Rock radio format.

In 2013, the DASH Conference was created - a mashup of radio and automotive, designed to foster better understanding of the "connected car" and its impact.
Along with providing the creative and intellectual direction for the company, Fred consults many of Jacobs Media's commercial and public radio clients, in addition to media brands looking to thrive in the rapidly changing tech environment.
Fred was inducted into the Radio Hall of Fame in 2018.
