Sirius CFO David Frear is defending the company’s accounting practice where nearly a half million unsold vehicles on car dealer lots are considered Sirius "subscribers."
Meanwhile, terrestrial broadcasters are spending millions of dollars trying to be in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley, making sure that their numbers are completely on the level.
Of course, if we could start counting AM and FM radios in empty, parked cars, our cume numbers would go through the roof! But of course, advertisers and Wall Street analysts would never be so dumb as to allow that type of accounting, right?
