Last month, the Super Bowl came to Motown, and of course, every local station scrambled to get their arms around the event. Happily, our clients – WRIF and WCSX – each did a great job. Drew & Mike did some of their best radio from downtown Detroit, interviewing everybody from Marcus Allen to Charlie Gibson. CSX, meanwhile, "crashed" 94 parties on Super Bowl Sunday.
Last week, Olympic ice dancers Tanith Belbin and Ben Agosto, did their best job ever, and in the "Kiss and Cry Room" after their performance, they gave a shout-out to WRIF’s Drew & Mike (video).
Turns out Tanith and Ben have listened to the show for years, and have been tuning in the WRIF stream while in Italy. The power (and fun) of local radio – not available from your iPod or XM.
