During the week, we know how busy everyone is with conference calls, meetings, returning emails, and of course, doing our jobs. We are also living in a time where there are more stories, research studies, trends, and think pieces than we can consume.
That’s what Sundays are for – a time when we can grab a cup of coffee, and scroll through things we wanted to read during the week, but just didn’t have time for.
Starting today, we’re launching an easy-to-digest Sunday feature where we’ve found a handful of stories, articles, or studies that we think you’ll find interesting and stimulating.
We’ll link them with a brief descriptor of what you’ll receive. Hopefully, you’ll find something that spurs a thought or an idea – or simply entertain you on a day when you can clear your head.
This week’s “Coffee links” are below:
1. Who’s Attending Live Events? (Nielsen)
Nielsen has released report about a growing topic in radio – festivals and live events. It’s about who’s attending concerts and events and why. This one might help you better frame your event marketing. You can also download their Music 360 report which has some cool info about how consumers interact with music.
2. Nintendo Nostalgia (Wired)
It won’t be long before you’ll be in the gift-giving mode, and Wired has a story about the new/old Nintendo Entertainment System. For just $60, it’s a small box that delivers lots of nostalgic games, including good old Mario.
3. Billions of Co-Op Dollars are Being Left on the Table (MediaPost)
A MediaPost article looks at co-op advertising dollars, and how billions go unused. There’s even a free white paper report you can download if this topic is of interest to you.
4. Social Media Predictions for 2017
Social media is on all our minds, especially trying to figure out where it’s all headed – video, Facebook Live, and virtual reality are all part the changing landscape. In this long article (you’ll need a second or third cup of joe), analyst Andrew Hutchinson offers two dozen social media predictions for the coming year. It’s a bit daunting, but a good read that you’ll share with your digital person.
5. The Future of Audio Editing Tech
And here’s a nifty video we ran into on the Twisted Sifter website. If you ever edited audio using a razor blade, tape, and a splicing block, you’ll love where audio editing technology is headed.
Let us know our batting average. Did you read all these stories? Did any story resonate for you? And would you like to receive these emails every Sunday morning.
Please email us your feedback – good, bad, or otherwise.
