I can’t define it, but I KNOW it when I see it…
The other day, my afternoon guy at WAFX, Mike Anthony, spoke on his show about the new U2 DVD, Live in Chicago that’s being released next week. U2 is one of those bands, for me, that while I dig the music, I’ve never quite understood what all the "excitement was about". (I know, I’m in the minority!)
However, I do like the band enough and Mike’s tease was pretty cool… So I checked it out.
Here is a link to it…
Now, as I mentioned….I’m a casual fan….the kind of fan however that is vital to the success of a DVD like this. Once the U2 fanatics run out and get it, I’m the guy they need to sell! So, I check out the link and not only is this the most incredible 90 second tease for a product I’ve ever seen… But I go from a casual fan of the band to PRE-ORDERING the DVD online, ’cause I just have to check it out in it’s entirety.
All from a 90 second "spot" on their Web site.
Sometimes we have trouble describing what a listeners experience needs to be on The FOX or FM 99 web site. Well, this is it. Taking a casual fan and making them LOVE what they see. This, as they say, is the "Secret Sauce".
