What a truly mind-blowing year this has been.
We’ve witnessed things we never felt possible, and yet here we are on the precipice of a new year, and there are still many unknowns.
I’m not sure you ever get used to this. Maybe numbed by it. But rarely at peace with it.
As we have mused over the years when discussing the technology transformation, it is essential “to get comfortable being uncomfortable.”
Now, we have a better understanding just how hard that truly is to accomplish.
So during difficult times, it is especially important we find the joy.
Many of us have accomplished that goal in 2020, knowingly or unknowingly, consciously or unconsciously.
Some of us have acquired loving pets, others have taken up baking or some other root skill. Some have taken the opportunity to reconnect with people they haven’t seen or spoken to in years. Some have reconnected with those with whom they share the same roof.
My wish for you – and all of us – is to find the joy this season, in whatever form or fashion it takes. There is a lot to be thankful for, no matter our stations in life.
Please help those less fortunate wherever you can. The need has never been greater.
I know it has been a difficult year, but I’ve never been more proud to be part of broadcast radio.
I’m thankful for all of you and all you do. And I appreciate you connecting with me in this space.
Have peaceful, restive, safe, and JOYOUS holidays.
