Recently, a coalition supported by three of the big four television broadcast networks (Disney opted out) and others – called TV Watch – pointed out the obvious. Citing a new 1,000-person nationwide poll study by Peter D. Hart Research Associated and the Luntz Research Companies (CLICK HERE FOR A PDF), TV Watch noted that by an 8:1 margin, more parental involvement is a better option to protect kids from viewing adult content than increased government control.
The Indecency Web poll we conducted last year with Edison Research is echoed by the TV Watch study. Radio needs to realize that its programming, creative content, and compellingness are all being threatened by the scare of further F.C.C. fines and punishment. There’s nothing offensive about going on the offensive.
Last year, we started a Web site – www.saveradionow.org. It’s a start.
