Trying to make sense of the digital transition is on everyone’s minds and plates these days. What is the digital application? And how can traditional radio stations figure out the best way to pull it off, utilizing existing content and smart digital tools?
So at Summit 13 in Austin, we’re consulting with the doctor – Leo Laporte – who is the perfect combination of an expert with vision who actually understands radio.
That’s because he’s on the air, hosting his own Premiere weekly show, "Leo Laporte – The Tech Guy." And he hosts an hour-long TV show, The Lab With Leo, as well as one of the internet’s most popular podcasts and various other digital endeavors. So while grounded in traditional broadcasting, Leo will bring us his expert views on how radio can get to this next place.
He’s like talking to a tech guy who gets radio. Or a radio guy who gets tech. And at Summit 13, he’s going to give us his prescription for radio. I believe this will be one of our best, and most-talked about Summit sessions yet, and Leo will also leave some time to take questions from Summit-goers.
In another session, Jeff Haley of the RAB and Deb Esayian from Emmis Interactive will do a sit-down with Paul to discuss how we monetize all this digital stuff, manage the digital transition, and how radio needs to be looking down the road, and not just at next quarter’s billing.
And let’s not forget Nikki Sixx, who will most definitely shake up the room with his views on music, radio, branding, and survival. We are excited about Nikki bringing his rock n’ roll attitude to Summit 13, and I’ll be blogging about his appearance in the coming weeks.
We are totally jazzed about this year’s Summit, which is saying a lot after we’ve already hosted the likes of Little Steven Van Zandt, Harry Shearer, and other experts, authors, and luminaries. As many of you know, the Summit traditionally packs some of the meatiest content at the convention. And this year will be no different.
Contact our office about reserving your spot at Summit 13, and we look forward to bringing Leoville to Austin.
