It’s getting tougher out there, and I thought that on a Friday, perhaps you could use a bit of good news before you head out for the weekend.
The RAB showed a video at the NAB Convention that is "Must-See TV" for anyone in radio. It’s linked below, and really does a nice job of showing the "soul of radio" (more on this in an upcoming blog). Yes, it’s fun to listen to an iPod, there is nice content on some satellite radio channels, and Pandora can be entertaining. But the radio experience is second to none, and you’ll get a feel for that with this video.
Congrats to the RAB for putting it together, and capturing the essence of what radio has traditionally brought to Americans, and what it is doing moving forward.
Have a great weekend.

The piece IS well done! Kind of a “Rovean” in its craftiness. Karl convinced America that Mom & Apple pie were strictly Republican values. So what if content is disappearing and all important local CONNECTION… to a market & to a listener is rare…we’ll just tell ’em it’s so, and it WILL BE so.
Ask anyone under 25 and it will be evident that radio is no longer central to their lives. As radio bean counters strip the very things that made radio compelling from the airwaves… the way it REALLY is has little to do with this swell piece.
