Some feel there's never been a better time for a little religion in our lives. Of course, that's never a topic in the JacoBlog, but the release of The Rock Bible is a reminder about how our favorite music genre is more than a collection of songs that test well.
Written by Henry Owings (who would probably make a great interview, you can contact his Publicity Manager Melissa Monachello to schedule), The Rock Bible: Unholy Scripture for Fans & Band, speaks to the vibe and lifestyle that characterizes Rock music. While this little red book of witticisms might also make a great giveaway, it could be the catalyst for the audience to contribute "commandments" of their own.

- "Rhythm guitar players should always look like they want to be somewhere else."
Rock is alive and well, but perhaps residing in different places these days. Between the passion for the music that you see when gamers play Guitar Hero and Rock Band, and books like The Rock Bible, there's no question that there's still lots of energy and love for Rock of all shapes, sizes, and sounds.
Tapping into the emotion – and even the humor – of Rock is why Spinal Tap worked, and how radio can use its big personalities to integrate a little lifestyle into formats that often sound predictable and repetitive.
As Owings reminds us, “If you want to die while in a famous rock band, there are four options. 1. Suicide. 2. Car or plane crash. 3. Drug overdose. 4. Murdered by a crazy relative. Just pick one and stick with it.”
