That’s a quote from an MTV press release, announcing a new TV channel for their UK and Ireland unit. According to MTV’s Angel Gambino, viewers will be able to visit a website called Flux, where they can choose videos that are played on the new channel, communicate with other viewers via cell phones, as well as using Japanese animation. Like so many other CGM (Consumer Generated Media) efforts these days, MTV is empowering its audience to create, give feedback, and become more involved with the channel.
It’s heading this way, as many smart and visionary radio stations are finding out. This is another reason why we’re creating our own CGM/Neo panel at this year’s Jacobs Media Summit in Dallas. Ben McConnell, author of an upcoming book on CGM, will be showing us how it’s done in other industries, while radio’s PDs and marketing directors will share their LGM (Listener Generated Marketing) successes with you.
If you haven’t made plans to join us for The Summit, please contact Lisa Riker at Jacobs Media.
