It’s amazing to watch the frenzy around iPhone 5. Even though some tech pundits and geeks have essentially written that it’s not a breakthrough device for Apple, early sales figures are through the roof. In the first 24 hours it was available, Apple had booked 2 million orders for its new technological wonder.
It’s in the eye of the beholder, and in the case of Apple, they have built incredible demand for a brand that has become a way of life for many generations.
And that brought to mind a cartoon from “The Joy of Tech” that I remembered seeing last year. It was a reminder that every gadget and platform has its own unique feature set – if the marketing team can just figure out how to trumpet its key benefits.
