A new Pew Internet project memo ("The Use of Webcams") reveals that one out of six adult American Internet users has gone online to view something – a person or a place – via a web cam. The number runs even higher for men.
It makes you wonder – radio has personality (DJ’s, special guests, concert backstage events) that listeners would love to see. If there’s any business or industry that could benefit from pulling back the curtain a bit, it’s radio.
We’ve talked a lot in this space lately about how morning shows could be making better use of the Internet and station web sites in order to generate some buzz. Web cams are a simple and great place to start.
