We’ve been talking about this for at least a a year, and now Apple truly has an FM solution. The FM Radio Remote allows iPod owners (Nanos and the iPods with video) to plug in and tune in. Once this new Radio Remote ($49.95) is plugged into a compatible iPod, users can tune in FM stations on their Click Wheel. And if the station uses RDS, the iPod display will show artist/title information.
Maybe now, stations will feel better about giving away iPods – as long as there’s an FM Radio Remote to go with it. This is a good sign, it’s about time, and let’s hope this is a first step in radio beginning to play some catch-up.
