If you watch "Entourage," you know the clothes that Vince, Drama, and Turtle walk around in epitomize casual but very cool dress. This is why they’ve created an entire line of clothing for sale, all based on the "Entourage" sense of fashion. This is a great idea, of course, but nothing that radio hasn’t been doing for years.
The problem is that most radio logo wear is dated or simply hasn’t advanced all that much over the years. If you check out "Entourage," you can see how they’ve combined a great Rock fashion sense with a cool, contemporary vibe. The shirt that "Vince" wore throughout a recent episode – AD/HD in the AC/DC font – is exactly what I’m talking about.
"Entourage" isn’t the only one doing this. Major League Baseball also has a line of shirts that parody Rock band styles. The end result is that this clothing is different, stands out, but evokes the heritage Rock vibe – something that stations need to exude to keep up with the times, while acknowledging "old school" style.
We know of a few stations that do this, but most simply continue to slap their logos on shirts and hats, and call it a day. More thought, a better fashion sense, and a connection to the rest of the world is all that’s necessary to re-connect radio to the closets of its listeners.
