That’s the line that Los Angeles TV anchorman Chuck Henry used to describe how their coverage of the Hollywood Hills’ fires was enhanced by "citizen photographers." It’s all part of the cool CGM movement that more and more stations have integrated into their brands, and it’s a great way to include listeners in many things that stations do.
Imagine encouraging listeners to email stations pictures from concerts, local happenings, and even stations events that you can post on your web page? We continue to encourage stations to shoot videos of their events, and often hear about how difficult that is, given staffing shortages or lack of expertise. But if listeners are empowered to become "citizen journalists," they can supply the content. Putting it all together in a montage is easy. (Bet you can do an even better job than NBC4 in Los Angeles.)
