The bad news for DJs? The Clear Channel purges, in particular, have put many talented personalities out of work.
The good news? They want you in India.
In that growing country, radio is red hot. More stations are signing on, and the occupation of "Radio Jockey" is highly respected and desirable. Even professionals like physicians and engineers are chucking their careers in order to purse the broadcast arts. There are more and more openings for personalities who are passionate about the music. The competition, however, is stiff, as more and more locals are getting the radio bug. A new private FM channel that isn’t even on the air yet has attracted 3,000 applications for 10 on-air positions. (How many American FM stations employ that many jocks?)
Wonder how long it will take them to discover Selector, remotes, and bar nights?

In 2013, the DASH Conference was created - a mashup of radio and automotive, designed to foster better understanding of the "connected car" and its impact.
Along with providing the creative and intellectual direction for the company, Fred consults many of Jacobs Media's commercial and public radio clients, in addition to media brands looking to thrive in the rapidly changing tech environment.
Fred was inducted into the Radio Hall of Fame in 2018.
