What? One consultant publishing a memo from another consultant? You bet.
Guy Zapoleon is one bright guy with a great view of our universe. I’ve sat in a number of meetings with Guy over the years, as I represent a Rock station and he looks out for the best interest of the AC in the same cluster. He is always considerate, insightful, and spot-on with his observations.
Recently, a client sent me Guy’s “take” on the Jack format. It was a refreshing view from the AC perspective. Even better, Guy didn’t try to take credit for Jack (success has many fathers), but provides great analysis. He also owns up to something that we’re all complicit in – not listening to those voices we’ve been hearing in focus groups and meetings all these years, and not going with our gut instincts sooner.

Fred was inducted into the Radio Hall of Fame in 2018.
