…To love Classic Rock. More great PR for the format in the new Rolling Stone (the issue with the low-key Mariah Carey picture on the cover). A new article, "Teens Save Classic Rock" is more evidence the future is bright for the format. Between the Grammy Awards featuring legendary artists, the Stones at the Super Bowl, and now this great national press, it was another great week for Classic Rock.

It’s about time Rolling Stone caught on to what most have known for quite some time. Now the challenge for Classic Rock radio is finding a way to monetize the younger generation’s fandom of the genre. I can’t really see these stations putting together a pitch that says, “Classic Rock is #2 male teens, #3 18-24 men, and #1 35-54 men.”
