Last week, I showed you how to produce short online videos to promote your radio station’s events. Here’s another example of a video we created to promote the upcoming DASH 3.0 Conference:
Now that you’ve got your video ready, you can use it in a number of places:
- Landing Pages: Create a landing page on your website that is specifically meant for people who come to your site to learn more about this event. Include the video at the top along with the important details of the event, and a clear call to action (such as a button that says “Buy Tickets”).
- Email: Send the video out to your email database.
- Social Media: Share the video on your social networks, especially Facebook. Don’t forget to include a second link for people who want more information about the event. Consider spending some money to boost this post so more of your fans see it.
- Text Message: Audience members with smartphones can watch the video just by clicking on a link in a text message, so consider sending it out to your text message database.
- Blogposts: Manually insert the video into any blogpost about the event.
- Website Sidebar: Add the video to your website’s sidebar so it appears on every page.
- Pop-Up Window: Add a pop-up window to your website. Include a call-to-action button in the pop-up window.
- Email Signature: Encourage everybody on your staff to include a link to the video in their email signatures.
- On-Site: Is your radio station frequently doing promotional appearances at bars and nightclubs? If your video doesn’t use a voiceover, have the street team bring a portable projector, loop the video, and project it onto a blank wall.
- Sponsors, Partners, and Performers: Ask your performers, your sponsors, and your media partners to share the videos over social media and add it to their websites. In fact, you could ask them to share the video through any of the ways above.
With a little effort, you can use videos to promote your station’s big event.
