This is the second of two parts of a recent conversation that I had with the A.I. writing tool ChatGPT. In the first part of the conversation, I asked ChatGPT a series of questions to help me create a sales proposal for a rock radio station’s concert festival to pitch to the Marketing Director of a car dealership in Little Rock, Arkansas. I asked ChatGPT to help me anticipate any objections to or questions about the proposal that the Marketing Director might have. I then assumed that the Marketing Director accepted the proposal with some changes, including a focus on the Jeep brand and that the band Shinedown would headline the festival.
My goal with that blog post was to provide an example of how ChatGPT can be used to help radio account executives. If this were happening in real life, the advertising campaign would now be handed off to the radio station’s Promotions Director. So in this blog post, I have created a series of prompts that a Promo Director might use.
As with my previous article, I have omitted the name of the car dealership. While the car dealership in this example is real, the radio station is purely fictional. Any resemblance to an actual radio station is purely coincidental. -Seth

All told, it took me less than an hour to have the entire conversation with ChatGPT, from the creation of a target buyer profile to the DJ’s on-stage announcements. My conclusions? I would not use any of ChatGPT’s outputs without editing or rewriting them, but as first drafts go, they’re pretty good. They’re certainly good enough to save the average radio station’s Account Executives or Promo Director a lot of time.
I’ve found that the trick to using ChatGPT effectively is to experiment with various prompts until you figure out what it’s good at and what it’s not. For example, I have not found ChatGPT to be very good at data scraping, and I have limited confidence in its ability to do research. But when it comes to writing rough drafts of content or brainstorming ideas, it’s a fantastic tool.
