I am a content junkie.
As a Radio Programmer with 22 years of experience and a stellar track record, I believe that I would be the perfect candidate for this role.
I am a South African man who is relocating to Atlanta at the end of April. My husband has a job there as a Global Controller for a multinational printing company.
I have been a Program Director at my current station for 8.5 years where I oversee the content for a Hot AC FM station of 1.2 million listeners and a digital classic hits station. Before that, I was a Group Music Director for 7 years. I have gotten great insight into what works and what doesn’t work for audiences and clients through my experience. I spend a lot of time focused on developing and creating compelling talent led content with a focus on our breakfast and drive shows. I am also frequently engaging clients and agencies on different campaigns.
I am passionate about developing talent. I love leading creative teams and working with on-air and content creation teams. My oversight includes talent, news, music, production, video, implementation and digital teams. I have an eye for talent and am a keen problem solver. My style is to be hard on deliverables but soft on people. I am comfortable having difficult conversations and believe in honest, clear communication always.
While my experience is limited to the South African Radio market, I currently work with Phil Dowse, an international consultant, who constantly exposes me to the best Radio from around the world. I also have a former colleague, based in the UK, who shares a lot of great content and campaigns they do at Global, with me. Michael Paleia from Hooks Unlimited does the hooks for our music research and Larry Rosin from Edison Research does our Market Studies and Infinite Dial South Africa, which our company partners on.
My superpower is being able to straddle both content and commercial.
