Air Talent, Other, Voiceover
Formats: AAA, Alternative, Classic Rock, Rock
Using humor and my love of talking about alternative, rock, and classic rock music, I was able to create fun and personable radio shows for 17 years. ALL of those 17 years were spent on KRAB-FM (now Alt 106.1 KRAB Radio) in Bakersfield, California. I did almost every shift on that station including a year and a half as a solo morning show host. I was fortunate to voice track for stations in Albuquerque, Modesto, and-most recently-Las Vegas. By researching these markets, I was able to create more local sounding shows that created better interaction and appreciation for the audience. I enjoy creating one-on-one communication with listeners, whether through phone calls, social media, or in person at station events. I was able to generate positive web numbers via blogging on station sites.
Along with doing music-driven shows, I was also the host of Kern County This Week in Bakersfield. This public service program gave a voice to the community of Kern County and the organizations that help make a difference. I handled writing of PSAs, created relationships with organizations and their representatives, and managed the Public File in observance of FCC regulations. Using connections to the community, I also produced and edited the Weekend Rundown-a weekly rundown of local events in Kern County. There was also a text version available on the KRAB website.
With experience in Adobe Audition and NexGen, I was able to edit programming, produce and mix commercials, as well as voice, edit, and write copy. While not an official production director, I was the main production contact for IHeartMedia, Bakersfield and delegated commercial work using V Creative and working with the Traffic and Sales departments.
