Paul "Doc" “Doc Watson” Watson
Air Talent, Voiceover
Formats: AC, Classic Hits, Classic Rock, News / Talk, Public Radio, Rock, Sports

I'm a 30+ year radio/TV on air talent who was inducted into the 2020 Specs Howard School Hall of Fame. Versatility has been my calling card. I've been an on air personality in A/C, Classic Rock and Country formats. I've hosted sports talk and news/talk shows, too. Also, I had a 6+ year run on TV as a morning show host and sports anchor. I've mixed a lot of sports work onto my resume, too.
I started in small market radio in Northern Michigan in 1988, working my way through Grand Rapids, Toledo, and Detroit (weekends at WNIC) before moving to Peoria in 1996 for a ground-breaking TV/Radio simulcast morning show, The Morning Mix. The show ended, but I remained in Peoria, back on radio until COVID helped eliminate my classic rock afternoon position with Cumulus Peoria in July.
After nearly a quarter century in Peoria, I have no desire to relocate. I'm weighing local broadcasting options, but would like to test the waters of finding an out of town on air position. I'm currently writing a memoir of my 30-yr broadcasting odyssey, putting my two-thirds of a journalism degree to use.
