On my desk this afternoon is a copy of a neat little book (actually it's the "advance uncorrected proof") called "The Big Moo." It was sent to me by our good friends, Ben McConnell and Jackie Huba (authors of "Customer Evangelism"). Edited by Seth Godin, it's a compilation of articles and stories by some of the smartest marketing brains on the planet – Godin, Mark Cuban, Tom Peters, Guy Kawasaki, Malcolm Gladwell, and of course, Ben and Jackie.
The subtitle of the book is "Stop Trying to Be Perfect and Start Being Remarkable," and after reading just a few of the vignettes, they are entertaining and thought-provoking. And none of the articles is credited to any authors. Readers just have to enjoy them, and if they like, imagine who wrote what.
All the proceeds go to charity, they are very inexpensive, and you can copy as many pages as you like and send to friends, co-workers, etc. I will be quoting many articles in the coming days and weeks. Already, the book fits the bill – it's very purple. And it sure got my attention.
