January 9-12, 2024
Las Vegas, Nevada
For the sixth year, we are beginning the new year in Las Vegas, gathering with broadcasters like you for our custom-curated tours of the Consumer Electronics Show. Our CES tours are open to all broadcasters – CEOs, GMs, Program Directors, Digital managers, and those who have long had this event on their “bucket lists.”
The ”World’s Largest Tech Convention,” CES 2024 will be as relevant, innovative, and mind-expanding as usual. For broadcasters, it gives us a chance to step outside of our day-to-day missions to experience changes in technology that will impact our business for years to come.
There is something new in the heart of Vegas we are excited to include in our CES experience. The amazing Sphere is an incredible confluence of media and technology. And we’re going to see it and experience it.
You might have seen this marvel on the news (U2 opened the venue and is doing a residency). We felt a trip to Las Vegas to see cool, new technology had to include a visit to this venue, a phenomenal immersive light show, both outside and in.
As the picture above shows, Sphere on the outside can take infinite forms that are creative, timely, and buzzworthy. This week, it looks like a Halloween pumpkin.
Here's an inside look at the brand new Las Vegas Sphere:
On the inside, the combination of over 160,000 LED lights and an immersive feeling you are in the show you create a unique experience. There is nothing like this anywhere on the planet and we are happy to include a visit to see their new feature, “Postcard From Earth.”
We believe radio’s future lies in our ability to innovate solutions to our challenges, while seizing the opportunities in front of us. This is an event where innovation – and optimism – are in the air. It is truly an inspiring event that we now couldn’t imagine missing.
Last year was a bounce-back year for CES. Coming out of the pandemic, it wasn’t as large as in the past. This year, however, we are expecting crowds to be closer to the pre-Covid peak (at around 140,000), with a full compliment of exhibits spanning the auto industry, mega-tech companies like Amazon and Google, amazing video tech from Samsung and LG, and an array of new companies and concepts designed to help us see the future.
Our 90-minute tours ensure you have prime access to the leaders of the companies we visit. Because of our official tour status with CTA (the Consumer Technology Association), we will be able to “jump the line” when necessary, gaining close-up access to the exhibits along the way. CTA professionals we have worked with in the past lead our curated tours. They have a strong understanding of radio and are able to connect these technologies with our everyday challenges.
We expect the tours to include the car companies, home entertainment, mobility, artificial intelligence, and more. In fact, we are going to be seeking out AI applications that could directly affect radio and will include them in the tour if possible.
CES 2024 runs from Tuesday, January 9 through Friday the 12th. Our tours are planned for Tuesday and Thursday (times to be determined). The visit to Sphere will be Tuesday evening at 7pm. Each tour has a maximum capacity of 15 attendees to guarantee a personalized, rewarding experience.
But CES is a multi-day experience, and we provide our tour guests with a primer on where to go and what to see so you can take in as much as possible, without wasting time wandering around (although that can be fun).
The VIP Tour
The tours are led by CES pros from the Consumer Technology Association. We work with them months in advance to plan the best experience possible, and to ensure they understand the radio business and what’s important to you so they can connect the dots of what you see and hear to our industry.
The tour package includes:
- A general registration pass for CES, including LVCC, Eureka Park, C-Space, and more
- The 90-minute tour
- A ticket to Sphere on Tuesday evening to see “Postcard From Earth”
- An invitation to a cocktail party we are hosting with other partners on Wednesday evening at the Capital Grill.
- Discounted room rates at the Bellagio, MGM Grand, or the Sahara. We will provide information to all registrants and help coordinate your room booking; however, you are not obligated to stay at these hotels.
The rate for the complete package for 2024 is $2,050 for Jacobs Media and jacapps clients and past attendees, and $2,200 for everyone else. This fee does not include airfare or hotel. We expect prices for airfare and hotels will be higher this year – it is the world in which we live, so if you are planning on attending, book soon.
As CES veterans, we have learned that each year introduces us to new ideas, visionary thinking, innovations, and new opportunities. This year will be no different. If you are interested in the future of our industry, and curious about how the world will be changing in the coming years, we believe CES is a must-see event.
Innovation has not slowed down; in fact, if anything, it has accelerated. Last year at CES, AI was a buzzword and a part of our conversations. Within a few months, those that attended CES had a better understanding when ChatGPT and other platforms burst on the scene. That is why it is important to invest the time to discover and understand new opportunities, transformations, and challenges on the road ahead.
We hope you can join us in this endeavor. Please feel free to reach out to us if you have any questions:
