It was inevitable. Earlier this week Fred Jacobs tipped me off to a streaming radio station where all of the content is created by AI. Every song, every production element in the stream was created by an engine like Suno.AI or Udio.
After listening for a while, it’s apparent that even though the content was all newly-created AI-audio, the songs and overall presentation sound familiar. Sure, Shaboozy and Sabrina Carpenter aren’t in rotation, but there is a mix of songs with the same chord structures, time signatures, and instrumentations that are separated by upbeat production elements.
Here’s this stream’s advantage: since AI works can’t be copyrighted, there’s nobody to pay royalties to. (Check with your counsel before creating your own.). Additionally, there’s an endless supply of newly generated music.
As we start to experience the creep of AI into our media consumption, the question becomes, “How will broadcasters leverage the competitive advantage of human hosts to retain and increase media consumption?”
It is no longer if AI will shape media, but how broadcasters will harness the power of authentic storytelling, community engagement, and shared experiences to remain indispensable in a rapidly evolving media landscape.

Adobe Boosts AI Functions in Photoshop and Premiere
The Adobe Max conference was Monday in Miami, where the creative software juggernaut revealed new AI tools for its flagship tools, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Premiere Pro.

In Photoshop, generative tools, including generative fill, allow users to create text-to-image designs, while a new generative workspace helps with ideation and brainstorming. Also, look for image distraction removal functionality that will help delete photobombers. Illustrator is integrating AI features like improved image trace for easier image-to-vector conversion and generative shape fill for better selection and control, streamlining the design process.
Premiere Pro
Adobe’s Firefly AI video tool is now available in public beta and is integrated into Premiere Pro, where it powers a feature called generative extend. This AI-driven feature allows users to create new video clips, including both visuals and audio, by extending existing footage for smoother transitions or extra frames. Firefly ensures that the original content used to generate these new clips is not added to Adobe’s training database, and all AI-generated content is tagged with content credentials for authenticity.

YouTube Introduces Tags to Label Non-AI Content
YouTube is introducing new content labels to identify videos that use generative AI, providing more transparency around altered or synthetic media. The label “captured with a camera” will appear in descriptions and directly on video players for sensitive topics like news and health. The initiative is part of a broader effort by YouTube and Google to promote transparency and trust in digital content. Details
X Updates Now Allow Training on Users’ Posts
Elon Musk’s platform, X (formerly Twitter), is updating its privacy policy to allow third parties to use user posts for training AI models. This change, which takes effect soon, enables external collaborators to leverage content from the platform for AI training purposes. Users’ data, including posts, could be used to train AI beyond Musk’s own Grok AI. No word on details about privacy and transparency, particularly regarding how this data will be handled and monetized by the money-losing social network. Details

Casio is launching “Moflin,” an AI-powered robotic pet designed to mimic real animal companionship. This palm-sized, hypoallergenic robot builds a bond with its owner through voice and gesture recognition, developing unique “emotions” over time. Moflin’s movements and interactions become more complex as it “matures,” with over 4 million possible responses. Though it can’t walk, it wriggles in place and responds to attention or neglect, making it a high-tech alternative to a traditional pet. Details
