About The Jacobs Media Public Radio Tech Survey

Jacobs Media’s Public Radio Technology Web Survey III is the largest such study of its kind, fielded in November 2010, among more than 21,000 respondents across 44 different Public stations covering a variety of formats. It is the third annual survey in the series, conducted among Public Radio listeners who are predominantly members of station email databases. Participating stations represent AAA, Classical, Jazz, News and combination stations in markets around the U.S.

This is a web poll, and cannot replicate all radio listeners or even all Public Radio listeners. As with all Internet-based research studies, the results reflect only those who chose to participate in the survey, and do not necessarily represent the views of all Public Radio listeners in the country. Still, the 44 radio stations that invited their listeners to take the survey are a broad cross-section of stations, from large and small markets, as well as those that cover a variety of programming styles.
