Something very special is happening here in Detroit tomorrow. And it has nothing to do with “Detroit 187.”
Jeff Pulver, founder of the 140 Characters Conference is bringing the show to the Motor City. And those of us who live and work here couldn’t be prouder to be a part of it.
I wrote about this incredible event last month, but the big day is now upon us at the historic Fillmore in Detroit. Jeff also has organized a Day of Giving (today) in Detroit.
There is a palpable feeling of excitement here in Detroit. Ford, General Motors, and Chrysler are making their respective comebacks. Hollywood movies are being shot here every week.

So with good weather already assured, here’s hoping this group enjoys a couple of days of coney dogs, Vernor’s, a burger at the Red Coat, some great local music, and the chance to share ideas about community and the real-time Web.
When you think about all the different ways in which our world has changed in just the past few years, events like the 140 Characters Conference are now a part of our learning and interacting.
